LAURA O’RORKE
Laura is constantly exploring and looking at the world as a dreamy setting where the construction site is mixed with poetry, where people evolve as characters of plural and immersive microworlds.
After studying at the fine arts school in Nantes and then in Cergy, she proposed performances at the Palais de Tokyo or at Main d’oeuvres. She also did residencies in the Himalayas or at the Frènes prison.
All her experiences and discoveries led her to the choice of set design, an infinite playground. Transforming objects, mixing fashion with art, cinema with science in order to remove the borders between the different disciplines.
Nature always takes back its rights in some sets and collides with a universe sometimes weary, sometimes kinetic. Where the spectator sees only a window of an artificial and beautiful world, where the scaffolding is sublimated, where the flowers fade peacefully. And where the model wanders in forests of plastic where nature is thrown in the service of a history which belongs to the collective.
